{"id":"ALSA-2022:1930","summary":"Moderate: keepalived security and bug fix update","details":"The keepalived utility provides simple and robust facilities for load balancing and high availability. The load balancing framework relies on the well-known and widely used IP Virtual Server (IPVS) kernel module providing layer-4 (transport layer) load balancing. Keepalived implements a set of checkers to dynamically and adaptively maintain and manage a load balanced server pool according to the health of the servers. Keepalived also implements the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRPv2) to achieve high availability with director failover.\n\nSecurity Fix(es):\n\n* keepalived: dbus access control bypass (CVE-2021-44225)\n\nFor more details about the security issue(s), including the impact, a CVSS score, acknowledgments, and other related information, refer to the CVE page(s) listed in the References section.\n\nAdditional Changes:\n\nFor detailed information on changes in this release, see the AlmaLinux Release Notes linked from the References section.","modified":"2026-01-30T01:27:31.794952Z","published":"2022-05-10T06:39:24Z","related":["CVE-2021-44225"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://errata.almalinux.org/8/ALSA-2022-1930.html"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://vulners.com/cve/CVE-2021-44225"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"keepalived","ecosystem":"AlmaLinux:8","purl":"pkg:rpm/almalinux/keepalived"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"2.1.5-8.el8"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/AlmaLinux/osv-database/blob/master/advisories/almalinux8/ALSA-2022:1930.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.3"}
