{"id":"ALSA-2025:0917","summary":"Moderate: keepalived security update","details":"The keepalived utility provides simple and robust facilities for load balancing and high availability. The load balancing framework relies on the well-known and widely used IP Virtual Server (IPVS) kernel module providing layer-4 (transport layer) load balancing. Keepalived implements a set of checkers to dynamically and adaptively maintain and manage a load balanced server pool according to the health of the servers. Keepalived also implements the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRPv2) to achieve high availability with director failover.  \n\nSecurity Fix(es):  \n\n  * keepalived: Integer overflow vulnerability in vrrp_ipsets_handler (CVE-2024-41184)\n\n\nFor more details about the security issue(s), including the impact, a CVSS score, acknowledgments, and other related information, refer to the CVE page(s) listed in the References section.\n","modified":"2026-01-30T02:18:28.499470Z","published":"2025-02-04T00:00:00Z","related":["CVE-2024-41184"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2025:0917"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2024-41184"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://bugzilla.redhat.com/2298532"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://errata.almalinux.org/9/ALSA-2025-0917.html"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"keepalived","ecosystem":"AlmaLinux:9","purl":"pkg:rpm/almalinux/keepalived"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"2.2.8-4.el9_5"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/AlmaLinux/osv-database/blob/master/advisories/almalinux9/ALSA-2025:0917.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.3"}
