{"id":"AZL-104988","summary":"CVE-2026-102270 affecting package python-jwt 2.13.0-1","details":"PyJWT is a Python implementation of JSON Web Token standards. Prior to 2.14.0, PyJWT is_pem_format is affected because lazy PEM regular expression backtracks extensively. This occurs when a certificate-like input contains repeated BEGIN markers without a matching END marker. As a result, is_pem_format performs unbounded backtracking while searching for a PEM end marker. Consequently, an attacker can cause intensive CPU consumption. This issue is fixed in version 2.14.0.","modified":"2026-09-30T05:39:58Z","published":"2026-09-28T21:17:14Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-102270"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-102270"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"python-jwt","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/python-jwt"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"2.13.0-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-104988.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
