{"id":"AZL-43606","summary":"CVE-2023-25565 affecting package gssntlmssp 0.9.0-2","details":"GSS-NTLMSSP is a mechglue plugin for the GSSAPI library that implements NTLM authentication. Prior to version 1.2.0, an incorrect free when decoding target information can trigger a denial of service. The error condition incorrectly assumes the `cb` and `sh` buffers contain a copy of the data that needs to be freed. However, that is not the case. This vulnerability can be triggered via the main `gss_accept_sec_context` entry point. This will likely trigger an assertion failure in `free`, causing a denial-of-service. This issue is fixed in version 1.2.0.","modified":"2026-04-01T05:15:12.801353Z","published":"2023-02-14T18:15:13Z","upstream":["CVE-2023-25565"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2023-25565"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"gssntlmssp","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:2","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/gssntlmssp"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"0.9.0-2"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-43606.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H"}]}
