{"id":"AZL-53195","summary":"CVE-2024-10977 affecting package postgresql for versions less than 14.14-1","details":"Client use of server error message in PostgreSQL allows a server not trusted under current SSL or GSS settings to furnish arbitrary non-NUL bytes to the libpq application.  For example, a man-in-the-middle attacker could send a long error message that a human or screen-scraper user of psql mistakes for valid query results.  This is probably not a concern for clients where the user interface unambiguously indicates the boundary between one error message and other text.  Versions before PostgreSQL 17.1, 16.5, 15.9, 14.14, 13.17, and 12.21 are affected.","modified":"2026-04-01T05:17:59.139737Z","published":"2024-11-14T13:15:04Z","upstream":["CVE-2024-10977"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2024-10977"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"postgresql","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:2","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/postgresql"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"14.14-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-53195.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N"}]}
