{"id":"AZL-62351","summary":"CVE-2024-47778 affecting package gstreamer1 1.20.0-2","details":"GStreamer is a library for constructing graphs of media-handling components. An OOB-read vulnerability has been discovered in gst_wavparse_adtl_chunk within gstwavparse.c. This vulnerability arises due to insufficient validation of the size parameter, which can exceed the bounds of the data buffer. As a result, an OOB read occurs in the following while loop. This vulnerability can result in reading up to 4GB of process memory or potentially causing a segmentation fault (SEGV) when accessing invalid memory. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.24.10.","modified":"2026-04-01T05:20:03.286165Z","published":"2024-12-12T02:03:40Z","upstream":["CVE-2024-47778"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2024-47778"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"gstreamer1","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/gstreamer1"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"1.20.0-2"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-62351.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H"}]}
