{"id":"AZL-62393","summary":"CVE-2024-47540 affecting package gstreamer1 1.20.0-2","details":"GStreamer is a library for constructing graphs of media-handling components. An uninitialized stack variable vulnerability has been identified in the gst_matroska_demux_add_wvpk_header function within matroska-demux.c. When size \u003c 4, the program calls gst_buffer_unmap with an uninitialized map variable. Then, in the gst_memory_unmap function, the program will attempt to unmap the buffer using the uninitialized map variable, causing a function pointer hijack, as it will jump to mem-\u003eallocator-\u003emem_unmap_full or mem-\u003eallocator-\u003emem_unmap. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to hijack the execution flow, potentially leading to code execution. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.24.10.","modified":"2026-04-01T05:20:04.276665Z","published":"2024-12-12T02:03:28Z","upstream":["CVE-2024-47540"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2024-47540"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"gstreamer1","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/gstreamer1"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"1.20.0-2"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-62393.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H"}]}
