{"id":"AZL-68468","summary":"CVE-2025-39967 affecting package kernel for versions less than 6.6.112.1-1","details":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nfbcon: fix integer overflow in fbcon_do_set_font\n\nFix integer overflow vulnerabilities in fbcon_do_set_font() where font\nsize calculations could overflow when handling user-controlled font\nparameters.\n\nThe vulnerabilities occur when:\n1. CALC_FONTSZ(h, pitch, charcount) performs h * pith * charcount\n   multiplication with user-controlled values that can overflow.\n2. FONT_EXTRA_WORDS * sizeof(int) + size addition can also overflow\n3. This results in smaller allocations than expected, leading to buffer\n   overflows during font data copying.\n\nAdd explicit overflow checking using check_mul_overflow() and\ncheck_add_overflow() kernel helpers to safety validate all size\ncalculations before allocation.","modified":"2026-04-01T05:21:25.442280Z","published":"2025-10-15T08:15:34Z","upstream":["CVE-2025-39967"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2025-39967"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"kernel","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/kernel"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"6.6.112.1-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-68468.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5"}
