{"id":"AZL-71176","summary":"CVE-2022-24736 affecting package compat-lua 5.1.5-17","details":"Redis is an in-memory database that persists on disk. Prior to versions 6.2.7 and 7.0.0, an attacker attempting to load a specially crafted Lua script can cause NULL pointer dereference which will result with a crash of the redis-server process. The problem is fixed in Redis versions 7.0.0 and 6.2.7. An additional workaround to mitigate this problem without patching the redis-server executable, if Lua scripting is not being used, is to block access to `SCRIPT LOAD` and `EVAL` commands using ACL rules.","modified":"2026-04-01T05:22:30.991237Z","published":"2022-04-27T20:15:09Z","upstream":["CVE-2022-24736"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2022-24736"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"compat-lua","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:2","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/compat-lua"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"5.1.5-17"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-71176.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H"}]}
