{"id":"AZL-91068","summary":"CVE-2026-57236 affecting package rubygem-nokogiri for versions less than 1.19.4-1","details":"Nokogiri is an open source XML and HTML library for the Ruby programming language. Prior to 1.19.4, calling Document#encoding= with an invalid encoding (e.g., a non-string, or a string containing a null byte) raises an exception, but only after freeing the document's current encoding string without replacing it. The document is left referencing freed memory, so the next call to Document#encoding reads invalid memory, which can cause a segfault or leak freed bytes into a Ruby String. Affects the CRuby (libxml2) implementation only; JRuby is not affected. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.19.4.","modified":"2026-08-28T17:47:33.369727788Z","published":"2026-06-25T15:16:40Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-57236"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-57236"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"rubygem-nokogiri","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/rubygem-nokogiri"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"1.19.4-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-91068.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
