{"id":"AZL-91284","summary":"CVE-2026-47242 affecting package ruby 3.3.5-9","details":"Net::IMAP implements Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) client functionality in Ruby. Prior to 0.6.5 and 0.5.15, when Net::IMAP#id is called with a hash argument, although the ID field value strings are correctly quoted (escaping quoted specials), they were not validated to prohibit CRLF sequences. While Net::IMAP#enable does process its arguments for aliases, it does not validate them as valid atoms (or as a list of valid atoms). The #to_s value is sent verbatim. Arguments to either command could be used by an attacker to inject arbitrary IMAP commands. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.6.5 and 0.5.15.","modified":"2026-09-09T14:17:36.563215800Z","published":"2026-06-22T21:16:24Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-47242"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-47242"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"ruby","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/ruby"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"3.3.5-9"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-91284.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
