{"id":"BIT-pillow-2026-112900","summary":"Pillow: Argument Injection in Ghostscript call, potentially leading into RCE","details":"Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 2.6.0 until 13.0.0, Pillow is vulnerable to argument injection when invoking Ghostscript for EPS input. EpsImagePlugin.Ghostscript passes a caller-controlled input filename after -f without converting it to a safe absolute path, so a name beginning with a hyphen can be interpreted as a Ghostscript option. An attacker who controls the filename can inject Ghostscript arguments. Arbitrary command execution specifically requires a leading @ argument-file filename and control of the referenced text file containing additional Ghostscript arguments; the reported chain reproduces with the default -dSAFER invocation. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0.","aliases":["CVE-2026-112900","GHSA-w889-685w-c8fh"],"modified":"2026-10-29T10:45:09.098062893Z","published":"2026-10-26T05:56:01.518Z","database_specific":{"cpes":["cpe:2.3:a:python:pillow:*:*:*:*:*:python:*:*"],"severity":"Critical"},"references":[{"type":"FIX","url":"https://github.com/python-pillow/Pillow/commit/a2c363141da31a265dd536c945677db4b64f3ec9"},{"type":"ARTICLE","url":"https://github.com/python-pillow/Pillow/releases/tag/13.0.0"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/python-pillow/Pillow/security/advisories/GHSA-w889-685w-c8fh"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-112900"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"pillow","ecosystem":"Bitnami","purl":"pkg:bitnami/pillow"},"ranges":[{"type":"SEMVER","events":[{"introduced":"2.6.0"},{"fixed":"13.0.0"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/bitnami/vulndb/tree/main/data/pillow/BIT-pillow-2026-112900.json"},"severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V4","score":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:X/CR:X/IR:X/AR:X/MAV:X/MAC:X/MAT:X/MPR:X/MUI:X/MVC:X/MVI:X/MVA:X/MSC:X/MSI:X/MSA:X/S:X/AU:X/R:X/V:X/RE:X/U:X"}]}],"schema_version":"1.9.2"}
