{"id":"CVE-2020-14377","details":"A flaw was found in dpdk in versions before 18.11.10 and before 19.11.5. A complete lack of validation of attacker-controlled parameters can lead to a buffer over read. The results of the over read are then written back to the guest virtual machine memory. This vulnerability can be used by an attacker in a virtual machine to read significant amounts of host memory. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and system availability.","modified":"2026-03-13T00:24:54.750099Z","published":"2020-09-30T19:15:12.917Z","related":["SUSE-SU-2020:2767-1","SUSE-SU-2020:2768-1","SUSE-SU-2020:2769-1","SUSE-SU-2020:2770-1","openSUSE-SU-2020:1593-1","openSUSE-SU-2020:1599-1"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-10/msg00006.html"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/01/04/2"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-10/msg00004.html"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/01/04/1"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/01/04/5"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://usn.ubuntu.com/4550-1/"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1879472"},{"type":"FIX","url":"https://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2020/09/28/3"}],"affected":[{"database_specific":{"unresolved_ranges":[{"events":[{"introduced":"18.02.1"},{"fixed":"18.11.10"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"19.02"},{"fixed":"19.11.5"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"20.04"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"15.1"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"15.2"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"18.11.10"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"19.11.5"}]}],"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/osv-test-cve-osv-conversion/osv-output/CVE-2020-14377.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H"}]}
