{"id":"CVE-2026-98956","summary":"ASoC: adau1372: allow sleepy powerdown GPIOs","details":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nASoC: adau1372: allow sleepy powerdown GPIOs\n\ngpiod_set_value() emits a WARN when the GPIO provider indicates that it\ncan sleep, as is typical for I2C controlled GPIO expanders. Since the\npowerdown GPIO is only manipulated in process context, use the _cansleep\nvariant instead. This lets the driver use sleepy GPIOs to power off the\nchip.","modified":"2026-11-04T14:27:23.059367840Z","published":"2026-10-23T12:19:20.208Z","related":["SUSE-SU-2026:5091-1"],"database_specific":{"cna_assigner":"Linux","osv_generated_from":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/98xxx/CVE-2026-98956.json"},"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1eb957ff50d74fe3fb56cf77184dfa9bd0f4a541"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/47c0c7a051b70d396774d5dc27b23283c28c3555"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/58905982b0d912021325f5de84facae86cc0f2f2"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/64dd172bbffe6135d79a06ddad53dd2da4d8bd62"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/65cd0e21746b812d311e9fac6d473dd62f0ad52a"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6cf4c3c9b7a4df0fe4cc67481b7b251cff781b29"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/9a13f13b11e1f36a3cbf79cae1862d87bd74f890"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/98xxx/CVE-2026-98956.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-98956"},{"type":"PACKAGE","url":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git"}],"affected":[{"ranges":[{"type":"GIT","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","events":[{"introduced":"6cd4c6459e47402ab90802eca61a18b231434053"},{"fixed":"1eb957ff50d74fe3fb56cf77184dfa9bd0f4a541"},{"fixed":"9a13f13b11e1f36a3cbf79cae1862d87bd74f890"},{"fixed":"58905982b0d912021325f5de84facae86cc0f2f2"},{"fixed":"6cf4c3c9b7a4df0fe4cc67481b7b251cff781b29"},{"fixed":"47c0c7a051b70d396774d5dc27b23283c28c3555"},{"fixed":"65cd0e21746b812d311e9fac6d473dd62f0ad52a"},{"fixed":"64dd172bbffe6135d79a06ddad53dd2da4d8bd62"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/osv-test-cve-osv-conversion/osv-output/CVE-2026-98956.json"}},{"package":{"name":"Kernel","ecosystem":"Linux"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"5.11.0"},{"fixed":"5.15.224"}]},{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"5.16.0"},{"fixed":"6.1.191"}]},{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"6.2.0"},{"fixed":"6.6.160"}]},{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"6.7.0"},{"fixed":"6.12.113"}]},{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"6.13.0"},{"fixed":"6.18.57"}]},{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"6.19.0"},{"fixed":"7.2.11"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/osv-test-cve-osv-conversion/osv-output/CVE-2026-98956.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.2"}
