{"id":"DEBIAN-CVE-2023-54041","details":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:  io_uring: fix memory leak when removing provided buffers  When removing provided buffers, io_buffer structs are not being disposed of, leading to a memory leak. They can't be freed individually, because they are allocated in page-sized groups. They need to be added to some free list instead, such as io_buffers_cache. All callers already hold the lock protecting it, apart from when destroying buffers, so had to extend the lock there.","modified":"2026-09-15T08:47:48.857845717Z","published":"2025-12-24T11:15:57.090Z","upstream":["CVE-2023-54041"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2023-54041"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"linux","ecosystem":"Debian:12","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/linux?arch=source&distro=bookworm"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"6.1.25-1"}]}],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/osv-test-debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2023-54041.json"}},{"package":{"name":"linux","ecosystem":"Debian:13","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/linux?arch=source&distro=trixie"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"6.1.25-1"}]}],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/osv-test-debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2023-54041.json"}},{"package":{"name":"linux","ecosystem":"Debian:14","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/linux?arch=source&distro=forky"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"6.1.25-1"}]}],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/osv-test-debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2023-54041.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
