{"id":"DEBIAN-CVE-2026-41642","details":"GoBGP is an open source Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) implementation in the Go Programming Language. In version 4.3.0, a remote Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in GoBGP due to a nil pointer dereference. When a malformed BGP UPDATE message contains an unrecognized Path Attribute marked as \"Well-known,\" the daemon fails to interrupt the message handling flow. This results in an illegal memory access and a full process crash (panic). This issue has been patched in version 4.4.0.","modified":"2026-08-27T23:06:09.041581472Z","published":"2026-05-07T12:16:17.460Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-41642"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2026-41642"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"gobgp","ecosystem":"Debian:14","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/gobgp?arch=source&distro=forky"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"4.4.0-1"}]}],"versions":["3.36.0-2","4.3.0-1"],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/osv-test-debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2026-41642.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H"}]}
