{"id":"DEBIAN-CVE-2026-59943","details":"Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP. In versions 3.15 and prior, if a malicious actor can supply unrestricted content for rendering by Dompdf they can utilize the SVG rendering functionality to leak filesystem information when rendering PDF files using image references within a data-URI encoded SVG document. Using an \u003cimage\u003e element inside a data-URI embedded SVG, an attacker can attempt to embed other files via the href or xlink:href attributes. When processing a file that does not exist (e.g. file:///DOESNOTEXIST), dompdf behaves differently than it does when accessing a file or directory that actually exists on the filesystem. This issue has been fixed in version 3.16.","modified":"2026-09-01T16:06:53.214767883Z","published":"2026-07-28T21:17:29.280Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-59943"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2026-59943"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"php-dompdf","ecosystem":"Debian:12","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/php-dompdf?arch=source&distro=bookworm"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"}]}],"versions":["2.0.3+dfsg-1","2.0.3+dfsg-1+deb12u1","2.0.3+dfsg-2","2.0.3+dfsg-3","2.0.3+dfsg-4","2.0.4+dfsg-1","2.0.4+dfsg-2","2.0.7+dfsg-1","3.0.0+dfsg-1","3.0.0+dfsg-2","3.0.1+dfsg-1","3.0.2+dfsg-1","3.1.0+dfsg-1","3.1.4+dfsg-1","3.1.4+dfsg-2"],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/osv-test-debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2026-59943.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N"}]}
