{"id":"DEBIAN-CVE-2026-73255","details":"Mongoose is an embedded web server and network library. Prior to 7.22, an attacker who can control an SSI-enabled file can place directory traversal sequences in an #include file or #include virtual directive. The mg_ssi() function in src/ssi.c concatenates the directive argument into a filesystem path without calling mg_path_is_sane(), allowing an MG_ENABLE_SSI deployment with ssi_pattern configured to disclose files readable by the Mongoose process. This issue is fixed in version 7.22.","modified":"2026-09-10T08:47:22.164038619Z","published":"2026-08-20T18:16:46.313Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-73255"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2026-73255"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"mongoose","ecosystem":"Debian:14","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/mongoose?arch=source&distro=forky"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"7.22+ds-1"}]}],"versions":["7.21+ds-1","7.21+ds-1~bpo13+1","7.21+ds-2","7.22+ds-1~bpo13+1"],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/osv-test-debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2026-73255.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N"}]}
