{"id":"DEBIAN-CVE-2026-73258","details":"Mongoose is an embedded web server and network library. Prior to 7.22, a remote attacker can place a lone carriage return or line feed in multipart input processed by mg_http_next_multipart() in src/http.c. The loops comparing s[b] and s[b + 1], and s[h2] and s[h2 + 1], use an incorrect AND condition and stop when either character resembles part of a CRLF terminator. This truncates headers, filenames, or boundaries and can cause an application to accept dangerous content after seeing a misleading Content-Type value. This issue is fixed in version 7.22.","modified":"2026-09-10T08:47:33.116880669Z","published":"2026-08-20T18:16:47.323Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-73258"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2026-73258"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"mongoose","ecosystem":"Debian:14","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/mongoose?arch=source&distro=forky"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"7.22+ds-1"}]}],"versions":["7.21+ds-1","7.21+ds-1~bpo13+1","7.21+ds-2","7.22+ds-1~bpo13+1"],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/osv-test-debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2026-73258.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N"}]}
